Better Life Diabetic ("we", "us", "our") is a coaching business run by Richard Martyn in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). We welcome people from around the world, so we also respect the core privacy rights people have in their own countries, such as under the EU and UK GDPR and US state privacy laws.
Because we coach people living with diabetes, you may choose to tell us about your health, habits or experiences. Sharing this is always optional. We treat it as sensitive: we use it only to support your coaching, we never sell it, and we do not share it except where the law requires. Please do not send us detailed medical records.
When you sign up, book a call or contact us, you consent to us using your information as described here. Our emails follow Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by using it or by emailing us.
We never sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need:
These providers must protect your information and use it only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access by its authorities.
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as the law requires. If you unsubscribe, we keep only what we need to make sure we do not email you again. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards, such as secure, password-protected platforms. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the proper authorities as the law requires.
Our pages use cookies and similar tools to remember your visit, measure how pages perform and track email engagement. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as well if you do.

If you live in the EU, UK or another region with similar laws, you may also have the right to receive a copy of your data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Some US states give similar rights. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Our services are for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
